We’ve covered some great platforms for Pinterest scheduling the last few weeks! Each one has a variety of features that are great for the novice and expert Pinner alike. This week we are going to take a slightly different angle and talk about a scheduler that is a fantastic tool for online sellers to easily promote their own products across social media and also provides some functionality for sharing other people’s content too. We are talking about connects to your shop and imports your listings/images so you can seamlessly schedule posts to your preferred platform. is best for ecommerce sellers using Etsy, Ebay, WooCommerce, Shopify, Storevny, Big Cartel, Zepo, Lightspeed, and Ecwid. It integrates with Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter

Okay, now that we’ve gotten the numbers out of the way let’s dive into what we love and don’t prefer when it comes to


When it comes to features, the basic package offers a good bit of capabilities such as: Saving time by posting on all social media from one place, choosing any image from your product photos to share on social media, creating collages from your product photos quickly, staying active by planning posts for a whole day in two clicks, finding and sharing very interesting (engaging) content with your followers, monitoring and sharing stuff from your favorite websits in one click, and finding and posting funny, interesting, awesome GIFs from within

What else do we like?

  • Ease of use- anything that makes our job easier gets a big thumbs up from us!
  • Built in collage maker
  • Photo import from other cloud storage systems (drive, dropbox,) as well as Instagram, Flickr, and Facebook
  • Built in search function for relevant content you can reshare with your followers
  • More advanced plans allow you to schedule posts across all supported platforms for a week.


As much as we appreciate how easy to use is, this would not be a platform that we would recommend for everyone.

Here’s why:

  • You can only plan 1 day at a time
  • Needs to be paired with another social media planner in order to plan content well in advance (more than 1 day or 1 week).
  • Remember, it is ONLY for ecommerce sellers who are selling on a supported platform. is a fantastic tool for online sellers to easily promote their own products across social media and does have some functionality for sharing other people’s content too. However, the biggest limitation of this scheduler is the short time frame for planning future posts (1 day or 1 week).

So, my recommendation would be to use to save time getting your ecommerce shop items shared consistently (on a daily basis using the basic plan or planning a full week with the advanced plan), but to pair the platform with another social scheduler that allows you to schedule reshared content (supplementary content) farther out in advance, in order to minimize the amount of time spent planning and scheduling social media content each week.

Pros & Cons of Board Booster

In this week’s edition of Pros & Cons of pin schedulers we are looking at my program of choice: BoardBooster. While each of the schedulers we have (and will) talk about have fantastic features, BoardBooster has been the best fit for me and Blue Fairy Studios.

Before we get into the breakdown of what we love and wish were better about BoarBooster lets talk pricing.

From analytics to scheduling features, and even content sharing features, BoardBooster has the ability to make Pinterest Marketing simple and effective.

  • The Looping Feature is great for making sure older pins are staying visible. You can select a board and have those pins re-pinned at random or in chronological order. This is a great feature to use as you see growth to your Pinterest and ensures that no one is missing your fabulous content.
  • Analytics make it possible to not only see which of your boards are performing well but they also:
    • Pull stats from Group Boards and lets you know the quality of those boards
    • Identify the best times to pin
    • Track follower growth
    • Identify Viral 3rd Party Pins (so you can easily find and share the popular content – or use it as a “model” for your own pin content).
  • Pin Mover, a feature that helps you move large groups of pins from one board to another, is useful when you want to split boards that have grown quite large into smaller boards with a more narrow focus.
  • Pin Doctor checks out the pins on your group boards and identifies any issues with pins such as duplicate pins, broken links, etc.
  • Group Manager is for owners of group boards. It acts as somewhat of a quality control so you don’t have to manage the group board 24/7. The Group Manager feature will let you know which of the pins are performing better than others and also makes sure that contributors are following the rules.
  • Campaigns
    • Scheduled Campaigns take pins from secret boards and sends them out to designated boards based of off the schedule you set
    • Random Campaigns take pins at random from a designated board and sends them out to any number of group boards.
  • Pricing plans are pretty affordable and flexible. You pay per month and can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Board Booster even forgives you a little if you over your pin allowance. They’ll help you budget your pins if you continuously go over, by placing a daily pin limit on your account until you upgrade.


  • Because of the many features, some feel that the dashboard can be a bit overwhelming at first. And getting everything set up in the most efficient way can take a little trial and error for those who are just learning how to use the scheduler.
  • You can’t add multiple accounts to work with teams
  • An additional scheduler would be needed for Social Media platforms. Board Booster only works with Pinterest
  • Some features require an additional cost (Pin Mover, Pin Doctor, Group Manager – 1 penny per pin)


There is no question that, based off of my experience, BoardBooster is a great option for anyone who is looking to work Pinterest like a pro. Pinterest can bring traffic, growth, and greater exposure to you business and having a great scheduling program that helps that process go a little bit smoother is a worth while investment.

Pros & Cons of Tailwind

Last week we talked all about Buffer and how easy it is for anyone just beginning their pin scheduling process. This week let’s chat about a different program. One that is more advanced and offers some great features for anyone ready to get serious with their social media scheduling.

This week it’s all about Tailwind! They are a Pinterest and Instagram scheduling and analytics tool that has become pretty popular in the blog & business world. But, is it worth the hype? I’ve done the research and here is what I’ve come up with.


Listen, a great strategy for Pinterest can bring your business incredible growth! Tailwind offers some amazing features that will help you begin to see the traffic you need to get yourself out there.

Here are some of my favorite highlights for Tailwind:

  • To be such an in depth program the price is pretty affordable. It comes in at just under $120 a year or $15 a month for Bloggers and Small Business.
  • Canva is built in! Any small business or blogger knows the beauty that is Canva. We love that Tailwind has integrated it into their program so that we can easily add custom pins while scheduling.
  • Tailwind allows you to add multiple accounts or work with teams. This is great for the social media managers, growing business, etc.
  • Analytics are great! It shows you how many Follows, Re-Pins, Likes, etc., your page has gotten. It also gives stats for individual pins so you can see what’s popular among your viewers.
  • Bulk uploading of images and bulk pinning from a website saves time (and we LOVE saving time!)
  • Pinning from Instagram
  • Browser extension (yay! These make scheduling pins SO easy!)
  • Tailwind Tribes: belonging to a few of these can massively extend the reach of your pins! The idea is similar to group boards on Pinterest, but these are built into the Tailwind platform, making scheduling pins to and from these groups a breeze. They are also a bit easier to find and join than traditional group boards.


There are not many things I can say about Tailwind that would make it a deal breaker. But, there are some features that, from an organizational standpoint, just stood out.

Tailwind’s negatives are:

  • There is the potential for there to be quite the learning curve when first starting out with Tailwind. Because of the many capabilities, the dashboard has been said to be a bit overwhelming for some.
  • There is no ability to do pre-set weekly schedules. Schedules have to be set separately for each time and each day. That seems a little time consuming and cumbersome, but you ideally only need to do this once. (Although it’s always a good idea to periodically check when the best time to pin is for your account, and adjust your schedule accordingly.)
  • If you are looking for an all in one social media management system- this isn’t it. Tailwind only works with Pinterest and Instagram so you will still need another program for any other platforms.


As far as Pinterest pin scheduling goes, Tailwind is a great option! I believe in the power of Pinterest, I’ve seen it bring growth, exposure, and success to so many people once they learn how to harness it’s power. Any scheduling software that caters to making Pinterest use easier I’m all for!

Pinterest Pin Schedulers Pros & Cons: Buffer Edition

A look at Buffer for Pinterest Pin Scheduling

Whether you are running a very successful business or just dipping your toes in the water when it comes to building your brand, you know that having a well thought out and put together social media strategy is key! But, keeping up with each platform’s post schedules can be overwhelming!

That’s where post schedulers come in! They come at various price points and capabilities, though. So, how does one choose? Well, I’ve done the research for you! There is a long list of available services and this series is going to be your go-to to figure out which one works best for you and your needs.

Today, we are highlighting Buffer.


If you are looking for a simple and easy to use program, Buffer is what you’re looking for. It’s a no fluff or frills system. The layout is easy to follow and is incredibly user friendly.

Buffer offers some great features for it’s users:

  • Scheduling within Buffer or through the Buffer Extension (available for multiple web-browsers) is incredibly easy. Through Buffer you can toggle between calendar and list view to choose upload your posts and organize them based off of your preferred time.
  • Browser Extension makes uploading directly from Pinterest a breeze! You can choose your Pin and schedule for any social media platform you choose.
  • Optimal Times posting allows you, the user, to calculate the best times during the day to schedule a post and then it auto schedules them. Each time allows for customization but this feature does a decent job at pulling from collected data so adjustments can be few.
  • (Depending on the version you choose) Buffer comes in handy for client management. Buffer Awesome and Buffer Business create an easier way for you to curate your clients social media pages based off of their needs.
  • Buffer Awesome (necessary if you are uploading to Pinterest) is reasonably priced at $10/mo or roughly $102/year. For a simple post scheduler the investment is well worth it.


Even though Buffer is has many great features, just like anything else, it has its areas of weakness. If you are looking for a program that offers extensive analytics or significant post scheduling options- well, maybe Buffer isn’t your solution.

  • While great for someone who is sharing minimal content, Buffer is not geared for long term content management. Recommended post schedule would be 30 posts per day. With Buffers capability of scheduling only 100 pins at a time that would only allow you to schedule out for about 3 days in advance.
  • The Analytics feature is limited to a 7 day review period unless you upgrade your account.
  • With a limit of 16 optimal post times a day it doesn’t offer as much as some of the more complex programs out there.
  • Doesn’t automatically post to Instagram however, it does allow for you to schedule a post.

If you are looking to get your feet wet with a Pinterest and social media scheduler or just looking for a simple no-nonsense program to work with Buffer is a great option!
